Glenford Nunez is a photographer who uses classical light and composition to create memorable portraits. He draws his inspiration from artists such as Jean-Léon Gérôme, Gian Lorenzo Bernini, John Singer Sargent and Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio. He has worked with media outlets such as Essence Magazine, The New York Times, Al Jazeera America, and Pitchfork Magazine. He has also worked with notable brands such as Cantu Beauty and Red Bull. He is the creator of The Coiffure Project which is a published photography series documenting women of color with natural hair. His photography is on permanent display at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.
